Detox as a supplement

Why detox?

Although the human body has its own detoxification mechanism, it needs support with the amount of pesticides, heavy metals, medicines, radioactive substances and chemicals in circulation today and our sometimes unhealthy lifestyles. It is sometimes overwhelmed with the removal of all these toxins and therefore it is good to take a detox cure once or twice a year.

Positive effects of a detox cure

May you let go of everything old in body and soul,
make room for the new and creative
and find your way back to energy, joy and well-being.

What is detox?

The word “toxin” is ancient Greek and means poison. Toxin is any type of substance that has a harmful effect on our body and can lead to all of the following.

Detox cure

We absorb toxins into our bodies through the water we drink, the food we eat, the air we breathe and the environment that surrounds us. All these toxins are then stored in the body and spread throughout our blood system, our cells and our organs.

The word “de-tox” means detoxification. A detox cure is a detoxification and cleansing of our body from the inside to eliminate these deposited toxins. It thus supports the cleansing of our organs such as the liver, intestines and kidneys, eliminates excess acids and toxins and stimulates our metabolism. You could say it is a spring clean for the body.

The detox program

Highly acidic foods such as alcohol, coffee, sugar, sweets, meat and fried foods are avoided during the detox program, so it makes sense to take this into account a week before your arrival at Prana Veda. We only serve organic, freshly prepared food that has an antioxidant effect and thus removes toxins from the body – usually from our own garden or the local market. Processed food and ready-made products are taboo.

Every morning at 7 a.m., the day begins with oil pulling with coconut oil to detoxify the mouth, teeth and digestive tract.

Detoxification

A Jamu shot with turmeric is served for breakfast to cleanse the body and a fresh coconut for lunch to balance the electrolytes.

It is very important to drink a lot during a detox cure, as this flushes the toxins out of the body. Detox teas are available throughout the day and are enriched with lemon, ginger and lemongrass, boost the metabolism, are alkaline and contain vitamin C.

If you wish, you can support the detoxification of the liver with heat wraps.

You can choose between an Ayurvedic detox, juice detox or fasting.

On a juice detox program, only fresh fruit juices, smoothies, coconuts and turmeric shots are served. A fresh fruit/vegetable juice or smoothie is served instead of the main meals. The rest of the time, we only drink coconut water from our fresh coconuts and detox tea.

This program is a more intensive form of detoxification, as no solid food is consumed at all. This allows the digestive organs to regenerate and toxins to be eliminated. This detox program is ideal for weight loss.
