Prana Veda Yoga

At Prana Veda we offer a 6-day yoga program. As we are a small retreat place, we can respond to our participants very individually.

There are 2 sessions a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We practice different types of yoga, such as Hatha Yoga, Yinyasa Flow, Yin & Restorative Yoga and various meditations, such as water meditation in our 35°C Watsu pool, Yoga Nidra, breathing meditation, Buddhist mindfulness meditation, candle meditation, dance meditation and silent meditation.

In the morning, we start our yoga class with a silent meditation and various pranayama techniques (breathing techniques).

Hatha yoga is a well-rounded combination of asanas (postures), pranayama techniques and meditation. The asanas stretch and strengthen the body. The postures are held for a few breaths to achieve the correct alignment of each pose. This style of yoga helps you to feel the connection between body, breath and mind and to connect with your breath.

Vinyasa yoga combines different positions in a flowing way. The movements are harmonized with your breathing. You develop strength and flexibility in a dynamic way and your breathing and body awareness increases.

Yin yoga is a meditative style of yoga in which postures are held in stillness for around 3 to 5 minutes. This stimulates the meridians, the energetic pathways of the body. It is important to breathe deeply and slowly and allow gravity to take effect, which addresses the deeper layers of connective tissue. With regular Yin Yoga practice, you can achieve a significant improvement in flexibility.

Restorative yoga is similar to yin yoga, but uses bolsters and blocks for support. The focus is on relaxation and calming the mind completely.

Partner yoga is a playful approach to practicing yoga and teaches us to connect with someone else, support each other, trust and let go.

Prana Veda Yoga Program

Our Prana Veda Yoga program comprises six sessions of 1.5 hours each in the morning and six sessions of 1.5 hours each in the afternoon. The classes build on each other.

On Sunday, during the introductory class, we practise gentle Hatha Yoga in the morning. We will ask you about your yoga experience and physical condition so that we can get to know you better.
In the afternoon we will introduce you to meditation, followed by Yin Yoga.

On Monday, we start with a short introduction to Hanging Belts, where you have the opportunity to look at the world upside down and experience relief and stretching of the spine. The focus in the morning yoga class is on the back.
In the afternoon we experience a floating meditation in our 35° warm Watsu pool.

On Tuesday we teach forward and back bends in the morning class.
In the afternoon we practise Yin Yoga, followed by a heart or breathing meditation.

On Wednesday we offer a day in silence – to feel deep into our innermost being. In the morning session, the focus is on our hips, hip opening postures and twists.
In the afternoon, we practice Yin Yoga or Restorative Yoga, followed by a silent meditation.

On Thursday there is a slow vinyasa flow yoga class in the morning and
a partner yoga class and/or meditation practice in the afternoon.

On Friday we practise a Hatha Yoga sequence that is very suitable for your self-practice at home. You will receive a sheet with this sequence to take home with you.
In the afternoon, we end our yoga week with a Yin or restorative yoga session and a final meditation.
