Numerous airlines fly to Denpasar, Bali's international airport. From Europe, there is always a stopover, e.g. in Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Doha. Flights can be booked through a travel agency or on the internet, e.g. via www.opodo.de, www.skyscanner.de, or book directly with the airline.
As our retreat weeks start on Saturday afternoon at 5 pm with a house tour and introduction, we ask you to arrive between 2 and 4 pm. It is good if you can find a flight that lands in Bali in the morning or around midday so that you can enjoy the three-hour drive through traditional Balinese villages, past beautiful rice fields, volcanoes and coconut palm forests while it is still light and arrive in time for the house tour.

General practitioners and tropical institutes can advise on the recommended vaccinations. In general, you should have the standard vaccinations (diphtheria, tetanus and polio) and hepatitis A for your trip to Bali.
There are well-equipped clinics in tourist centers on the island that also offer 24-hour assistance, e.g. International SOS Clinic, Bali International Medical Center (BIMC) or Kasih Ibu in Denpasar.
In Bali, the water from the tap is not drinking water. Please only drink water that is sold in water canisters and bottles. Prana Veda provides drinking water free of charge.
Yoga beginners and advanced students are very welcome. As we teach in very small groups, we can respond individually to each participant.
If you would like to book massages, dolphin tour, excursions, drinks (soft drinks, wine, beer), laundry service in addition to your retreat package, you can bring 100,- to 200,- Euro in cash, depending on your needs. It is possible to pay in euros or in Indonesian rupiah. Credit card payments are not possible.
Children up to 3 years are free. Children between the ages of 3 and 12 pay a reduced price (on request).
You can pay directly by international bank transfer or via Wise to our Indonesian bank account.
Prana Veda only accepts cash payments in euros or Indonesian rupiah. Payments by credit card are not possible.

As a tourist, you are welcome at ceremonies such as full moon ceremonies, weddings, births and cremations and can get in touch with the locals to learn about the Hindu faith tradition of the island. A sarong (a kind of wrap-around skirt, also for men!), a scarf around the hips and a top covering the shoulders are worn. This clothing is also required for all temple visits in order to show respect to the Balinese. Photography is permitted during the ceremonies, but not during blessings. No flash should be used during temple festivals. As a rule, Balinese people are happy to be photographed, but it is always a respectful gesture to ask them beforehand. Children in particular are happy when you show them their photo on the camera display.
The difference to Germany is +7 hours, during Central European Summer Time it is +6 hours.
Tourist buses operate in larger tourist resorts, but there is hardly any public transport in the north of the island. The most common means of transportation for tourists are cabs and private drivers. We are happy to organize a transfer from the airport or another location on the island. The journey from Denpasar to Bondalem takes around three hours and takes you through the interior of the island past rice fields and volcanoes.
Tipping is not compulsory in Indonesia, but it is appreciated.
It is nice when the entire team from the service to the kitchen, the cleaning staff and the gardener and night watchman share equally in the tips. We therefore ask you to refrain from giving individual tips. The course management collects a joint tip for everyone on the last day. We recommend budgeting 25-35 euros for the week, depending on your level of satisfaction.
The currency in Bali is the Indonesian rupiah (IDR). Current exchange rates can be found here, for example. In larger cities and tourist centers on the island you will find numerous ATMs where you can withdraw money with a credit card and PIN number. You can get around 100-150 euros per withdrawal from the machine, but you can repeat the process several times. Prana Veda is located in a rural area and the nearest reliable ATM is an hour's drive away. There are numerous bureaux de change and ATMs at the airport.
Internet is available free of charge around the clock in the rooms and in front of reception, although it is not always trouble-free.
The area code for Indonesia is 0062. Prepaid SIM cards for the Indonesian mobile network are available in many places, even with an Internet package.
A SIM card is recommended, especially if you need Internet for navigation, translations or online bookings.
You can buy physical SIM cards directly on arrival at the airport or in many supermarkets on the island. There are various providers, with Telkomsel having the best network coverage and a fast data connection.
If your smartphone supports the service, you can also purchase an eSIM online in advance.
Prana Veda has direct access to the sea and the offshore reef with its colorful coral gardens and fish is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
There is no strong current, but you have to pay attention to high and low tide. We recommend swimming only at high tide.
We offer a variety of different excursion options if you would like to explore the island. We will be happy to advise you directly on site.
The magic of Bali
Bali - Island of the Gods
Bali, the “island of the gods”, has always exerted a special fascination. The Hindu culture is deeply rooted in everyday life: ceremonies, offerings and rituals accompany people from birth to beyond death and create a strong sense of community and orientation. This vibrant spirituality is combined with a belief in the forces of nature, making Bali a unique place where tradition and modernity flow harmoniously together.
Culture – Nature – Lifestyle
Experience Bali
Geographically, Bali belongs to the Lesser Sunda Islands and is of volcanic origin. Around three quarters of the area is dominated by mountains, including the sacred Gunung Agung, which at 3,031 meters is considered the seat of the gods. The tropical climate with temperatures between 24 and 32 degrees and the location in the rain shadow on the north coast create ideal conditions for lush vegetation, rice terraces and a rich flora and fauna. Bali is known for its thousands of temples, artistic dances, traditional healers, impressive volcanic landscapes and the warm-hearted hospitality of its people – an island that not only welcomes its visitors, but touches them deeply.
