Berbeda dengan bentuk yoga dinamis, fokusnya tidak terlalu banyak pada bentuk eksternal asana dan lebih pada persepsi sadar akan sensasi tubuh bagian dalam. Melalui gerakan yang lambat dan mengalir, pengaturan nafas dan perhatian yang terfokus, apa yang disebut dengan kesadaran tubuh (somatik) dilatih.  <\/p><p data-start=\"469\" data-end=\"1027\">Praktik ini memiliki efek langsung pada sistem saraf otonom. Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, banyak orang sering mendapati diri mereka berada dalam kondisi aktivasi sistem saraf simpatik yang tinggi &#8211; mode &#8220;melawan atau lari&#8221;. Yoga somatik membantu mengaktifkan bagian parasimpatis, yang bertanggung jawab untuk istirahat, regenerasi, dan penyembuhan. Melalui gerakan-gerakan lembut, pernapasan yang disadari dan persepsi keadaan tegang dan rileks, tubuh dapat belajar untuk melepaskan pola-pola stres dan kembali ke keadaan aman dan seimbang.   <\/p><p data-start=\"1029\" data-end=\"1436\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Latihan yoga somatik secara teratur dapat membantu melepaskan ketegangan otot kronis, meningkatkan kesadaran diri dan memperkuat ketahanan emosional dan fisik.
